Privacy Policy
Budget Runway (“we”, “us”) is a personal budgeting tool. This policy explains what data we collect when you use budgetapp.shecurates.de, why, and what choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Who is responsible
The data controller is the operator of Budget Runway. For any privacy question or request, contact how@shecurates.de.
What we collect
- Account data. Your email address and a hashed password, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase). We never see your password in plain text.
- Your budget content. The figures, labels, currencies, dates and notes you enter. These are stored against your account. The app provides no way for staff to view the contents of your budgets, and routine administrative access to them is blocked at the database level; we only ever see aggregate, anonymous counts.
- Usage events. Lightweight records of actions in the app (for example: opened the app, saved a budget, viewed a projection) with a timestamp, so we can understand which features are used and keep the service reliable.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes standard request logs including IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and diagnostics.
- Payment data (only if you subscribe). Handled entirely by Stripe. We store your subscription status and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers — never card numbers.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Essential. A session cookie that keeps you signed in. The app does not work without it; it is not used for tracking.
- Advertising. On the free plan we show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Subscribers on a paid plan are not shown ads and the advertising code is not loaded for them.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before advertising and non-essential cookies are used, through a consent notice that meets Google's requirements. You can change your choice at any time via the link in that notice.
Why we may process your data (legal bases)
- To provide the service — performance of our agreement with you (account, storing and projecting your budgets).
- Security and reliability — our legitimate interest in keeping the service working and protected from abuse.
- Advertising on the free plan — your consent, where required.
- Payments — performance of our agreement and compliance with legal obligations.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of processors to run the service:
- Supabase — database and authentication. Data is stored in the European Union.
- Vercel — application hosting and request logging.
- Stripe — payment processing, only if you subscribe.
- Google AdSense — advertising, only on the free plan.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Your budget data is stored in the EU. Some providers (for example Vercel, Stripe and Google) may process data outside your country under appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
Account and budget data are kept until you delete them or close your account. When you delete your account, your budgets, usage events and profile are removed. Backups and provider logs are cycled out on their own retention schedules. Payment records may be retained by Stripe as required by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your data yourself from your account page, or contact us at how@shecurates.de. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Budget Runway is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
